Entry Level Referee Clinic

There is a shortage of Referees in KCYS to officiate games. There are the following Entry Level Referee Clinics to help address this shortage. The cost of the clinic and registration is $65.00.

Once you become a Referee you can officiate games anywhere in the state. In the Kent area, Referees make between $23.00 to $50.00 as a Referee and $16.00 to $32.00 as an Assistant Referee. Refereeing is a great way for kids to make money or a great second job for anyone. There are games available to officiate year around. We recommend that participants be at least thirteen years old.

Entry level clinics fill up quickly, so register for the clinics soon at, https://www.wareferees.org/AvailableClinics.aspx. There are about 4 to 6 hours of online lessons that must be completed a couple of days prior to the clinic.

The clinics consist of both classroom and outdoor instruction.

  1. Bring paper and pencil for notes.
  2. Bring shoes appropriate for light work on the soccer field (cleats not required). And dress for the weather.
  3. Bring your referee whistle

There will be an exam at the end of class which must be passed to earn your license. Pay very close attention to the questions and answers during the online education.
